In the Sacrament Preparation Program we respect and support the parent’s first responsibility for the education of their child. Our program provides at-home materials along with in-Church opportunities for growth and knowledge. Families as a whole are welcome and encouraged to participate in the sessions. Session dates and topics are as follows:
First Sacraments preparation combines a home-study program with in-person Family Sessions. Our Sacrament Preparation Program uses the St. Joseph First Communion Catechism to help guide us through the fundamentals of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. Other materials will be sent periodically that will bring further enrichment to the program. All of our materials are available in English and Spanish upon request.
We recommend completing Reconciliation Home Study before November 30, 2021 and First Communion Home Study before February 1, 2022.
Children will be assessed on their readiness prior to receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. Assessments are an informal interview done in a group setting.
