If you’re in need of financial aid, legal assistance, employment help or another tough time, there are a wide variety of community resources available to help.

We’ve compiled a PDF of some of the most useful resources and contacts in the area that can help in a time of need, available in both English and Spanish.

St. Vincent De Paul helps tackle poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need. This is usually provided as short-term assistance to those in crisis in the form of rent assistance, utility bills, or other emergency funding.

The Mission started in 2014 with the goal of helping the neediest in two remote mountain villages in North East Honduras. Our vision was to help them by bringing medical and dental services and most importantly the Word of God. We have seen great progress in all of these areas and we have been moved by the growth of their faith and spirit through the reestablishment of the catechetical and sacramental aspects of their Catholic faith. We are also expanding into other communities.

Our missionaries work in outdoor clinics, schools and churches providing medical and dental care for hundreds of villagers in need of attention. Services include: check-ups, consultations, dental extractions and restorations and the distribution of medicines and vitamins. The mission includes Daily Mass, prayer, the sacraments and faith sharing by home visits and catechesis.

Kolbe Prison Ministries is an apostolate to those incarcerated in Texas prisons. We run three day retreats in multiple state prison units, proclaiming the Gospel to hundreds of men each year.

The Pro-Life Council at St Anthony of Padua is dedicated to promoting a Culture of Life throughout our community through pastoral ministry, education, advocacy and prayer. We are committed to recognizing and protecting of the dignity of every human life, especially where most vulnerable. Need more information? St. Clare’s Society prepares lap-sized prayer blankets for those who may be in need of spiritual comfort during times of physical or emotional illness. The blankets are a witness to our belief in the healing power of prayer. Please stop by the Parish Office and pick up a prayer blanket for a loved one! Contact us to help make the prayer blankets. 

St Daniel serves State prisons in the local area. Each visit requires a team of 3 people to serve together. Couples are welcome to serve together with another solo person. Each team will work with ministry leaders, Diann and Stan Ross, until trained and comfortable leading a class.

St. Leonard Society makes specially designed rosaries for incarcerated men and women in prisons throughout the state of Texas. Even though rosaries may be readily available to us, those who are imprisoned have to request one, and can wait up to two years to get it due to the lack of supply. SLRG has provide 9000 plus rosaries over the last four years. . Email us if  you are interested in helping with this ministry even from the comfort of your own home! 

Pregnant and parenting moms in need are in our local communities and in many instances turn to other places for help when they find themselves in a challenging situation.  We recognize that moms in need are best assisted at the local level, and parishes like St. Anthony are uniquely positioned to encourage a collaboration of resources and to increase awareness of help available to mothers and families in need.
